Situated approximately 55km south east from the Melbourne CBD on the South Gippsland Highway, Tooradin is considered to be the gateway to Phillip Island and is ideally situated to cater for the needs of travellers. Situated on Sawtell Inlet at the northern end of Westernport Bay the immediate area was first settled in November 1839 when Robert Jamieson and Samual Rawson set up a 'run' beside Yallock Creek.
The town became a small sea port to transport local produce to Melbourne and is well known for it's safe boat anchorage and abundant fishing opportunities
